This year, during our “Active Month!”, Chillibreeze hosted an event that featured various activities in the spirit of sportsmanship. Every staff member participated in the event with enthusiasm.
The event brought back memories of college when we had “College Week” which was filled with fun activities and an excited me took part in as many activities as would fit into my days.
I always assumed that once I started working, such events would be a thing of the past. I thought that the fun, excitement of competition and the thrill of winning would all be fond memories of my growing up phase. My work life, I thought, would be all work and responsibilities.
Luckily for me, I landed a job in a company where the fun is an integral part of the fuel needed to stay sharp at work!
Make no mistake; we work very, very hard at our jobs. And we have fun too. Well-deserved fun!
Chillibreeze serves global customers, and the team always works hard day in and out to deliver the best to customers. Chillibreeze HR recognizes this and plans fun activities during periods when work schedules can be relaxed a bit. The focus of these activities is personal growth and relaxation.
This year, “Active Month” was planned for us. We had different themes for each day, and on those days, I felt like a child with no care in the world!
Let me share the lineup of events with you.
Marathon
The marathon started off at 6 AM. For most of us, waking up early to make it for the marathon was itself a huge challenge. Despite that, there was an 80% turnout!
I am not a runner, but I am proud to say that I completed the race.
Like I said, most of us were not early risers or runners, so it was with sore muscles that we went to work the next day. But that did not dampen our spirits in the least, and we were all eagerly looking forward to the next event.
Sports Day
Football and basketball were next on the agenda. The boys were thrilled and played some very good football. The girls, well… they tried! Football in the mud with a light shower, it was fun multiplied several times over!
60s to 90s Theme Event
For this decade throwback event, we had a few outdoor activities. A series of games were organized, and everyone participated in high spirits.
The highlight of the event was dressing up in fashion from the 60s and 70s. We totally killed it!
Your Favorite Character Theme
We went all out for this theme, there were witches, the cast of Kung Fu Panda, Sound of Music, Charlie Chaplin and many other characters. We vied with each other as hidden talents came to the fore in a short skit and in dance and art competitions.
The amount of talent that we got to see was a wonderful surprise. I was dazzled by the amount of creativity my fellow team members displayed.
The Masquerade Theme
This was the last day of our Active Month, a masquerade ball where we put on our best attire. We had a singing competition too. This was the most awaited activity because almost everybody in Chillibreeze and Zizira can sing! Yes, that is true! We had variety - contemporary, ballad, rock, rap and even metal singers. And, there was a violinist too. Not to blow our trumpet, but I believe the judges had a tough time deciding, as all of us gave our best performances that night.
Our Active Month concluded with a jam session which was preceded by a photo session. I enjoyed myself thoroughly through the month and am eagerly waiting for the next such event to be planned.
