There is more to Ibaihun Thabah than just a shy girl with a pretty face. She has accomplished so much at such a young age of 28 and her humble beginnings set precedence for her accolades.
Ibaihun was born and raised in Shillong. She is the youngest of two children and raised by a single mother after her father’s demise. Her mother supports the family vending vegetables and her brother continues to take care of their Father’s business. She completed her schooling from Laban Assamese Girls, Graduated in Political Science from Lady Keane College and received her Master’s degree in Political Science from the North Eastern Hill University.
Ibaihun enjoys and spending her free time sketching and painting. The dream of her younger self was to be an Architect. She aspired to get into architecture as she was inspired by her creative father.
“I owe my creativity to my father. He had the talent and a vision to create miniatures of life-size houses, buildings, instruments and many more. He was at his happiest when he was drawing, designing and carving to create what he had visualized.” says Ibaihun.
However, her dream was short–lived as the family could not support the exorbitant tuition fees that came with the pursuit to study Architecture. To support her education through Degree to Masters—she established a small shop offering mobile recharge and top ups. She had a busy schedule attending classes by day and running the shop by night until this hectic scheduled got in the way of her focus. She closed down the shop to attend to and focus on the vast subjects and to graduate with flying colors.
After her studies, Ibaihun took a break for about 3 months until she learned about Chillibreeze. She heard about Chillibreeze through word of mouth and came around to apply for it. All she had in her arsenal of talent was a basic knowledge of computers. She was very overwhelmed to have cracked the interview and was enthusiastic to start working.
Unfortunately, her start at Chillibreeze was a pretty rough start. She struggled to learn and grasp the work as quickly as others. She was put on training longer than necessary but this did not kill her determination. She endeavored to excel like the others and her efforts and perseverance paid off, when she was finally appointed as an Executive on April 2012.
After working and establishing herself as an Executive for 3 years—she got promoted to Senior Executive in January 2015.
