Chillibreeze has a vision and mission that defines all that it does
The purpose of Chillibreeze goes beyond being a profitable company. Through the diligent work of a healthy company, we transform lives, create wealth, provide purpose and add value to customers, employees, families, and community. As a role model, Chillibreeze’s influence spreads throughout Northeast India and beyond.
It is one thing to say that we have a vision, but are we living up to it?
Are we transforming lives? Are we adding value to the community?
We talked to a few staff members in Chillibreeze, and this is what Pynskhemlang Niangti, Senior Executive in the Creative Services division of Chillibreeze has to say.
A Khasi by birth, Pyns lives with his mother, who is a retired professor, and his two younger brothers in Shillong, the capital of the State of Meghalaya. A city is known as much for its beautiful landscapes and waterfalls as for local bands and football!
As a teenager, Pyns wanted to join the army. Later his interests in arts and drawing surfaced, and he was fascinated by computer animation.
After completing his graduation from St.Anthony’s College, Pyns did a Diploma Course in Desk Top Publishing (DTP) in Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong. He was also familiar with PPT, an application of Microsoft Office. His interests lay in graphics, animation, and art. He wanted to find a job that would give him a chance to work in these areas.
“My dream job is in computer animation. I am fortunate and blessed that I have the chance to work in graphics at Chillibreeze, which is very close to my area of interest. I now have a job that I have grown to love. And with all the diverse work that we do, I might create a superhero character soon!” says Pyns, who is a member of the Creative Services team at Chillibreeze.
Pyns gets to use his creative skills every day to serve customers worldwide. He works on the design aspects of PPTs for busy business and tech consultants, and he does it with speed and delivers on time!
Joins Chillibreeze in 2011
Pynskhem’s first job was in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where he stayed for 18 months. He is the eldest of his siblings, and when his father’s health took a turn for the worse, he decided to return home, to be near his family.
Once back in Shillong, Pyns found a job in a printing press. That job was not his calling, and he was waiting and praying for better opportunities. Within three months of joining the printing press, his friend Laurence had some good news for him! He showed him a job advertisement in a local paper, and it was for openings in Chillibreeze! Pyns was thrilled and excited. He applied, following the online process, and was pretty tense the whole time as he wanted to do it right!
Pyns joined Chillibreeze on February 14th, 2011.
Getting into Chillibreeze was not easy
Pyns says that getting into Chillibreeze was not easy. “I had to go through many tests. Firstly, I had to fill up an online questionnaire. I struggled to fill this up! I took my time as I wanted to do it correctly. I drafted the answers and then filled up the form online. I was thrilled when I got a call from Teddy, Head of our HR & Admin division. He called me for an interview”.
“I was desperate to get a job in Shillong so that I could be near my family. On the very first day when I saw the work environment in Chillibreeze I knew that I was joining a good company, as compared to what I had seen in Chennai” says Pyns.
He not only got a job in Shillong but got to do the things that he loves.
Family tragedy places more responsibilities on his shoulders
A tragedy struck their family when his father and the head of the family passed away at the age of 55 in July 2013. The pain of losing his dad is palpable when he says “we are missing my father, the head and pillar of our family. We are missing him as a person, as a father as a provider, as a role model”.
Pyns now shoulders a lot more responsibilities, and he is grateful that he has a good job at Chillibreeze. Thanks to it, he can contribute financially to the family.
“I am so grateful that I found a professional company like Chillibreeze here in Shillong. Had I been working in other private firms I won’t have been able to contribute much to my family financially. I am earning well in Chillibreeze. Here we get a monthly pay plus incentives based on performance. I try my best to be a good team player and do well! This helps me make extra money, which I need for my family”.
Both his younger brothers are now working, one in a church and another in the Police Department. All the brothers now contribute to the family.
Training on the job helps in skill-building
Pyns knew how to use PPT before he joined Chillibreeze, but it is by being attentive on-the-job and through in-house training that Chillibreeze provides that he is learning the full potential of the software. “I never knew that we could do so many things with PPT. I thought it was a simple application” says Pynskhem.
Working to deliver high-quality work
Pyns now works in a team that implements orders from top companies and management professionals from across the globe. They depend on Chillibreeze for timely delivery of high-quality work with zero tolerance for errors or delays! Pyns has to be on his toes at all time. Work calls for long hours, direct interaction with customers and on-time delivery of the highest quality.
Pyns is up to the challenge and is blooming. The big changes he sees in himself are his self–confidence and the ability to interact directly with customers to meet their expectations without feeling stressed. All these, he says, are thanks to the support his managers and team provide and the regular training provided by Chillibreeze.
Customer feedback like this makes his day “Great Job Pyns—we really appreciate your attitude and hard work. See below for the impact your team has for us,” and the customer was generous to share the feedback he had received from his team.
Pyns says “every day we give our best. I come prepared, to meet deadlines and to deliver perfect and good quality work. Making sure the customer gets value takes commitment as a team”.
Mother happy
Pyns feels sorry that his father did not live to see how well he is doing and how good the company he works for is. His father worked in the Meghalaya Police Department and was keen to see his eldest son Pyns join Government Service too. He was alive to know that Pyns had joined Chillibreeze but did not live long enough after that to see the positive impact the job, and the company was having on Pyns.
His mother is very happy about his well–being, says Pyns.“She is happy that I am a responsible person”.
As there are not too many job opportunities in Shillong, the chances of people being unemployed are high. “Many youngsters depend on their parents because of inadequate job opportunities. I can stand on my own feet and am also able to provide. As I am the head of the family now, it is important that I lead by example”.
Pyns feels that having a professional company like Chillibreeze will slowly change the mentality of people that there can be an alternative career, other than a Government Job.
Dreams big
Pyns does have dreams for himself and his family. Bike, car, travel and so on. He made a small beginning by buying a motorcycle. Though this was a used bike, it is a good one and he enjoys his rides to and from the office on the two-wheeler.
He dreams big for the company too! He hopes he can stay in this company till it is time for him to retire and see it become a model company in the whole country! He says with a smile, “When I retire, I am sure to retain all the training I would have had in Chillibreeze and lead a good life!”
I like very much and I want to be with that company as I am a multitasking man I konow civil construction , electricity, plumbing and also much more than that two years I m within Sr lawyer as translators and I like to get a good job like Admin
