Chillibreeze has been in Shillong for 11 years now. It is the only private company in Shillong that has sustained through the years of bandh, load shedding and curfews.
One of the things Chillibreeze did, was change and enlighten the minds of people of Shillong by holding Family Orientation Programs for each new batch of trainees.
These events are a chance for parents to have a first-hand experience of what their child goes through every day at work.

One parent quoted, “I want my child to be challenged, I want her to see that life is not easy. They had it easy all their lives, now it’s time to work, only when they experience hardship, they will know its value. Thank you for challenging her to be her best”.
These orientation sessions are beneficial for both the company and the employees.
Not having support from family members can make it hard for employees. It will jeopardise work as well as relationships at home. These sessions inform families about what the employees need from them for a successful work life. The sessions tell them how the success of each individual employee contributes to the company’s success, ensuring the company’s continuity.
During a conversation, a parent said, “Getting clarity on what my child is doing is something new, seeing where he is working and getting the full information about the company is mind changing. I see now that this job is the best fit for him and I don’t want anything else.”
Another parent quoted, “Seeing all this and hearing what the company had to offer makes me happy. Also, the care the company gives to my daughter's safety lessens my worries. It is very nice you are doing this, it gives us a clear perspective”.
Chillibreeze’s work culture has resulted in a change in the mindset of people about private companies in Shillong.
With the rise in unemployment, our choices are limited. We cannot keep depending on the availability of government jobs.
