In communication, discipline and being responsible.
Has working in Chillibreeze given you more confidence about your future?
Yes, definitely.
How do you think Chillibreeze is making a difference in NE India?
Chillibreeze provides us the opportunity to Think and Live our Dreams.
What do you think is the best way for Chillibreeze to be a role model and is Chillibreeze living up to this?
Being Professional and yes Chillibreeze is living up to this.
Are you gaining confidence and if so how does this make you feel?
Yes every step, every opportunity, every challenge has helped me to gain confidence in the role that I play and the responsibilities I shoulder.
What 3 ways do you see Chillibreeze adding value to customers, employees, families or community?
Chillibreeze never fails to astonish its customers. Chillibreeze helps the staff in building a positive attitude/character. Family members can see the change in us by way of maturity.
Compare your life to someone you know who is unemployed. What are the differences?
I understand the value of time, am capable of decision making, I am mature and responsible. An unemployed person lacks all this.
How do you feel about become a professional?
Being professional creates more confidence, increases the level of decision making, execution and discipline
Can you think back to the time you joined Chillibreeze and compare—how things are with you now and how it was then?
I see myself back then and now as having changed a lot. I have gained lots of experience and have become more mature. I can take decisions. I am able to visualize things. I am able to discover the qualities in me that I never thought I had like managing people, understanding people and interacting with them. All these have been, and are very great experiences.
When I joined, I was totally fresh. I was new, but somehow I managed. Each and every one in Chillibreeze is working as part of a team. The company has systems which appreciates people who have the skills and have the willingness to learn. Clarissa and I joined at the same time, we were willing to learn. It is a great place. Yes, there have been tough challenges and these have helped me grow.
Any feedback given by your family or friends?
Feedback yes, my cousin sister told me that my extended family looks up to me. I help each and every family member financially too. I have become the second head of the family! Any decision they need to take, they look to me for feedback. With the maturity I have gained, I find that I can take informed decisions.
Where have you seen changes in yourself, or your quality of life, or your skills?
When I first joined Chillibreeze, I was very shy, I used to be very quiet. I hardly passed comments or thought out of the box. I thought that is who I am. But with time, I kept changing and improving. I now find that I am not a shy person. I can speak, lead and coach!
I am now a mature person, I do not rush into making decisions. I am patient and disciplined. My communication skills have improved. Earlier when we had meetings at the office, I would hesitate to comment, as I felt I would not be fluent. When my managers pushed me, I had to speak up! I had to represent my team. I realized that it does not matter if what I say is not correct language wise. It is important that I voice my team’s views and opinions as best as I can. Also, I do not mind people correcting me.
The quality of life for my whole family has improved. With my job at Chillibreeze, I have been able to help my father support the family. I spend wisely—another skill that I have picked up at work! So I am able to save and buy things that my family needs.
Chillibreeze has helped make my dreams come true. In Chillibreeze we have to challenge and improve ourselves continually. Chillibreeze has helped me find who I am as a person.
What were your dreams growing up? What did you aspire to become? What were the challenges you faced, if any?
My dream was to be an interior designer. As I grew up, I got interested in commerce. Then from that point, I wanted to be a business woman. We were not well off. I used to look at other people who owned lots of things and would dream about having things of my own.
I wanted to buy a two wheeler. But my family encouraged me to get a car. Hence I extended my savings and bought a car!
According to you are there good job opportunities available to members of your community? If yes, where? If not why not?
From my understanding, many from our community—Khasis and Jaintias are running after Government jobs. Only recently they have started looking at private firms. By having Chillibreeze as a role model we may be able to attract more companies to start operations here!
I feel that everyone in Chillibreeze is lucky to be part of it. It has really helped Northeast. Earlier not many knew about the company. But now everyone knows! They have started trusting Chillibreeze. It used to be hard for people to trust private firms, but Chillibreeze has changed that.
What kind of a job would you have been doing if you had not found Chillibreeze?
I think I would have been working in a hospital in Assam—a job I had in hand when I joined Chillibreeze.
