Laurence Lyngdoh, Sr. Executive, Presentation and Design Services
Laurence has been with Chillibreeze since September 2010. Before joining the company, he had worked abroad for two years. The decision to return to Shillong was not an easy one to make. He loved the idea of being back in Shillong, but he knew that job opportunity were few. He feels very lucky to have got a good job right here, in the city that he loves and that too in a company like Chillibreeze.
What brought him back? What has been his experience in Chillibreeze? Let us find out.
On to Dubai, but back in Shillong
Laurence obtained a diploma in Desktop Publication from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Shillong in 2006.
Soon after, he was recruited to work for a new magazine that had been launched in Shillong called The Northeast Today. He worked there for six months and then he landed a job in Dubai, in the Emirates Printing Press.
“I was working as a Mac–operator in the pre-press section of Emirates Printing Press in Dubai. I was part of the quality checking team, and my job was to make sure that there were no printing errors.” – Laurence
His job paid him well, but Laurence did not find the work very interesting, and for him, money was not everything. He wanted to work where he felt energized and was adding value. But this was not so. He was not happy with the work culture in the company, and after having tried for two years, he decided to return to Shillong.
Joins Chillibreeze
He had heard about Chillibreeze even while he was pursuing the Desktop Publishing Course in Don Bosco Technical Institute and knew about it from his friends too. With fingers crossed he applied to Chillibreeze online. He was called for an interview and recruited as a member of the Design Services team. Laurence found the recruiting process in Chillibreeze relatively easy.
“I don’t think it was hard to get into Chillibreeze. I applied online through the Chillibreeze website. I filled up the online form, submitted my resume and fortunately I was called for an interview.”– Laurence
His mother was ecstatic when Laurence landed a job in Chillibreeze. She heard from her friends that Chillibreeze was a good company.
“When I told my mother that I got into Chillibreeze she was thrilled. Here, in Shillong, often college graduates are driving taxis for want of better job opportunities.
I speak to my family about Chillibreeze and the work I do. They understand our company and our culture and see that I am happy. This makes them happy, for me” – Laurence

Laurence is now a Sr. Executive, Design and Presentation team. He works on formatting documents, designing cover pages, brochures, banners, posters, and web banners, etc. using InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and illustrator.
