How has your work in Chillibreeze benefited your family?
Working with Chillibreeze has helped me support my family financially. I am also able to help my relatives in their time of need.
In what areas of your life have you improved as the result of Chillibreeze work?
Chillibreeze is grooming me to be responsible, face any challenges that come my way and to think of a better way to do things.
How have you matured compared to your friends who do not have a job?
Compared to my friends who do not have a job, I know which direction I am headed and need to go in life.
Has working in Chillibreeze given you more confidence about your future?
Yes, definitely.
How do you think Chillibreeze is making a difference in Northeast India?
Chillibreeze gives an opportunity for work with a good company right here in Shillong to many youngsters who would otherwise have to go outside Northeast in search of a better paying job.
What do you think is the best way for Chillibreeze to be a role model and is Chillibreeze living up to this?
Having a professional company like Chillibreeze in Shillong will slowly change the mindset of a certain group of people who feel that there can be no alternative career besides a Govt. Job. Chillibreeze has proven this wrong by opening up secure job avenues for unemployed youth.
Are you gaining confidence and if so how does this make you feel?
Yes, I have gained confidence. I now have the confidence to speak in public. I have now started to lead the team meetings—this used to be hard for me! It makes me feel good to see my team members being proud of me when I speak and I know that I am setting a good example for them.
What three ways do you see Chillibreeze adding value to customers, employees, families or community?
Employment, Financial help and Trustworthy service.
Compare your life to someone you know who is unemployed. What are the differences?
I am more mature, responsible, strong and secure than an unemployed person.
Describe three things that you are doing that is role model for Northeast India?
I can only answer this question for Shillong. I am a role model to the people in my community…
- When I wake up early to reach work on time it shows diligence and punctuality.
- When I go to work to support my family, it shows responsibility.
- When I come home from work and still have the time attend to my responsibilities as a mother and wife, it shows strength and maturity.
How do you feel about becoming a professional?
I have always considered myself lucky working with Chillibreeze as we are known as professionals outside India.
Can you think back to the time you joined Chillibreeze and compare—how things are with you now and how it was then?
When I first joined Chillibreeze, I did not think that I would fit in. And, I did not imagine that I would lead a team! Now I am leading a team of 8! I have big dreams. That is a big difference! Chillibreeze made me see the potential I had and helped me realize it.
Any remarks or questions from your friends and family?
Mostly my friends ask about the company I work. Many in Shillong or even the Northeast of India think that companies cannot offer good jobs. So, the first thing they want to know is how long I have been working here! When they hear that I have been here for five years (at the time of the interview in 2014) they understand that this is a good company. Many of them said, "you are so lucky–you have a good job where you get a good salary."
Even the fact that taxi comes to drop us home every night is such a blessing. Other companies do not provide this. From this too my friends and others see that Chillibreeze is a good company to work, in Shillong!
Initially, they did not know Chillibreeze. Now if I mention Chillibreeze, they know! I am thrilled and proud that Chillibreeze has now become a well–known company in the Northeast and is known for the job it provides in Shillong!
Many of my relatives would say something like "help me if there are vacancies in your company."
I would simply say, it is not easy to get a job in Chillibreeze as we have a stringent selection process. Many apply, and only the best get in. Our company follows a very transparent process for selection.
I remember this incident where a girl I did not know, who lived far away from my house, came to see me at my home. She had been searching for me after she found that I worked in Chillibreeze because she wanted to work too. I felt proud, as people were searching for me!
In fact, I felt like a minister! I told that girl "Even if I recommend, they will not hire you unless you go through the process." She applied, following the normal process.
Where do you see changes in yourself, in your quality of life and in your skills?
I learned new skills and improved existing ones. Of course, there are so much more things that I need to learn and improve! I learned a lot in these past five years.
Regarding the changes in myself—at home, I am more disciplined. I implement the discipline I learn at work at my house too. I spend time coaching Risa, my one year-four-months old daughter, how to behave.
I am so thrilled after seeing your post. This had inspired me a lot to work at this company.
