I come from Pune, a city where there are dozens of jobs available; you don't have to struggle to find a job. I was working at CATS Academy India Pvt. Ltd. when I had to move to Shillong. My husband had taken up higher studies, and his institute was in Shillong.
I did not mind leaving my job in Pune because I was excited about the move. I was to move to this beautiful state – Meghalaya!
I clearly remember that Google search! I typed in ‘Companies in Shillong’ and ‘Chillibreeze’ popped up in the search results. I clicked the link, thinking, "How cool is that?" A design company named Chillibreeze, in a cool region of India.
On reaching the Chillibreeze website, I was pleasantly surprised about how refreshing, yet professional it looked. As I started browsing through the pages, I was drawn in. I ‘entered’ the Chillibreeze world as I read through pages titled Purpose, Guiding Practices, History, and most importantly, Stories of the employees.
All the stories were so positive and full of gratitude towards Chillibreeze. I could sense the genuine effort put in by the company in developing the people.
So, I was hooked! Here was a company that was challenging the belief that a corporate organization cannot thrive in NE India. I wanted to be a part of this organization!
The website was proof that Chillibreeze is not only successfully conducting its business but also helping employees realize their potential and keep raising the bar.
Getting in was neither fast nor easy. A whole year went by before I got a call for an interview at Chillibreeze.
All the while that I waited, I had been literally 'stalking' the Instagram, Facebook pages of Chillibreeze. All the posts were full of positive vibes, and I felt connected!
The recruiting process was comprehensive, paperless, follow-up-free, and yes, most importantly, very sensible.
I joined Chillibreeze, knowing fully well that it would be a path filled with learning and challenges. This was because of a mail I got from the HR team about reading the book ‘Regenerative Business’ before joining.
How frequently do you come across organizations which intentionally make you understand and learn? Rarely, right?
Reading the book, an insightful one, made me realize that if I were to implement the concepts from this book at work, I would need to change the way I do things.

Employees learn every day. Be it on their own, from books available in the library or through online courses and also from each other while working.
They are responsible for their development and are given opportunities to grow in their skills and roles.

The day I was appointed at Chillibreeze is one of my most beautiful memories. I was inducted as part of a dynamic and smart team that challenges me to give my best. I was made to feel welcome by my team.
In just the first month, I got a tremendous amount of exposure to the business and the work culture. It was challenging, and it helped me learn.
Each day comes with something new to learn either through interaction with team members or through reading or simply working with competent colleagues with different skills.
I was asked to conduct an orientation session for trainees about Accountability, Authenticity, Resourcefulness, Complacency. This was a great start for me because when your team puts so much trust in you, it pushes you to perform well and improve your skills.
As the days go by, I have started to recognize and appreciate aspects such as consistency and keeping activities aligned with the company’s purpose and values. I am happy to work with an organization that is committed to living up to its vision and values and one that appreciates integrity.
I look forward to learning and growing while enabling Chillibreeze on its path towards achieving its goals.
